Green papaya
Green papaya with lentil is a type of healthy food recipes as well as a vegetable curry from Papaya fruit. Papaya is packed with nutrients that are highly beneficial to health. Green Papaya is full of enzymes which are very good for digestive health. It not only cures indigestion and constipation but also relieves from acid reflux, hurt burn, stomach ulcers and gastric problems. Papaya is also protective against acne, pimples, and other skin infections. Papaya leaves with tamarind and salt relieve women’s menstrual pain.Papaya tree produces papaya almost throughout the year in most of the tropical countries. As the hard green papaya can be stored in a cold and normal temperature, it is available in the markets of almost every country in Asia, ME, Europe, and America. Since the vegetable possesses good food ingredient and digestive contents, it is advisable to cook with light spices for eating with rice or chapatti. Among the different types of cooking, green papaya with red lentil is a very easy recipe. It is yet another healthy food recipe with very low calories and almost no cholesterol.

Serving: 4-6 persons
Ingredients:
I green papaya (approx 500 gm)
1 cup red lentil (you can use any pulse)
1 onion (medium size) slices
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
½ tsp chili powder
4-5 red chili
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil
Process:
Soak pulse into the water for 20 minutes.
Peel papaya skin and Cut into thin slices (approx ¼ the inch thick, 2-3 inch long and1 inch broad).
Put papaya slices into the water for 5 minutes.
Heat the cooking pan and fry in hot oil 50% of the onion slices and red chilies hot oil. Keep aside when the color is dark-brown.
Add remaining onion slices, garlic paste, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt and cook for 2 minutes.
Add red lentil and 2 cups of hot water.
Cook for 10 minutes and then add green papaya slices.
Cover with a lid and cook another 10 minute or until papaya pieces tendered.
As the water level reduced to the top level of red lentil and papaya take the pan out of the burner.
Take green papaya with lentil curry in the serving pan and spread fried onion and red chilies over it.
Serve it with white rice or chapatti.
